A Hairdresser Near Koondoola That's Actually Worth Visiting

Koondoola isn't a suburb that comes up much in conversations about Perth's salon scene. That probably means a lot of residents are either travelling further than they'd like to find a good hairdresser or settling for whatever's closest. We're not far, and we think we're worth the drive.

Alex Royer Salon is on Bayley Street in Dianella — roughly ten minutes from Koondoola. Small team, full service, PPD-free colour, genuinely inclusive atmosphere.

The Honest Version of What We Do

We cut hair. We colour hair. We do it well and we take it seriously. The colour side of things is where we get the most specific feedback from clients — people who came in having had bad experiences elsewhere, usually because a consultation didn't happen properly or because a previous salon used conventional dye that caused a reaction.

We use Keune Tinta and Semi, which is PPD free. PPD is the most common allergen in conventional hair dye and reactions to it can develop without warning even after years of problem-free colour. Going PPD free doesn't mean compromising on colour quality or longevity. It just means the risk of a reaction is off the table.

Who Comes to Us From Koondoola

A mix of people. Some found us through a Google search when they were looking for something specific — PPD-free colour, or a salon that's openly inclusive. Some came on a friend's recommendation and weren't sure what to expect. Some just wanted to try somewhere new because what they were doing wasn't working.
