A Hair Salon Worth the Short Drive From Bedford
Bedford is a quiet suburb that doesn't make a lot of noise about itself. Mostly brick houses, well-kept gardens, good access to Reid Highway and Tonkin Highway. It's a practical suburb for families and it's sitting right on the edge of Dianella — which means Alex Royer Salon is, for most Bedford residents, genuinely local.
We're on Bayley Street in Dianella, a few minutes from most parts of Bedford. And we hear from Bedford clients regularly that the trip is worth making for the quality of work and the feel of the place.
The Colour Work Is What People Come Back For
We do everything — cuts, treatments, styling, blowdrys. But the thing that gets people through the door for the first time and keeps them coming back is usually the colour. Specifically, the quality of the consultation before any colour touches your hair, and the consistency of the result.
We use Keune Tinta and Semi colour ranges, which are PPD free as standard. PPD is the chemical in many traditional hair dyes that causes allergic reactions in some people — reactions that can develop over time even in people who've been colouring their hair for years without a problem. Going PPD free isn't a niche request at our salon. It's just what we use.
An Environment Where You Can Relax
We're a proudly LGBTQI+ friendly salon and a judgment-free space. That's not a marketing line we throw around — it's reflected in who works here and how clients are treated. If you've felt uncomfortable in a salon before, or if you just want somewhere you can sit in the chair and not think about anything except your hair, that's exactly the environment we try to create.
Practical Stuff
We're open Tuesday through Saturday and take bookings online through alexroyersalon.com.au. Walk-ins are welcome — we do our best to fit people in around the booking schedule. Street parking is available on Bayley Street. From Bedford you're looking at a five to eight minute drive depending on which part of the suburb you're coming from.
If you've been meaning to find a new regular hairdresser and haven't quite got around to it, booking a consultation is the easiest first step. No commitment beyond that conversation.
